Sant Antoni de Portmany
or
San Antonio
Ibiza, Balearic Islands, Spain
With its beautiful bay,
named ’Port
Magnus’ = Great Harbour -,
it is already
well-known by many visitors for its
West End, a very British
nightlife district. In
Spanish the town is called:
San
Antonio Abad and although it is a smaller village, its frantic
& famous
nightlife scene is very easy to find.
San Antonio Bay
offers a wide range of hotels and narrow
beaches where one can sunbathe or practise watersports near one’s own holiday
residence.
Of course this
municipality
has many historical places that are worth a visit.
Places of interest in & around SAN ANTONIO are:
| * |
the
cave paintings from
Ses Fontanelles,
|
| * |
the
underground chapel of
St. Agnes. |
*
|
You can not forget
the beautiful beaches,
like Cala
Salada, Cala Gracio, Cala Gracioneta (a
sandy beach in beautifull surroundings), or
Calo des Moro where the public goes every day to watch the
sunset.
Punta de sa Galera is a
small isolated cove, perfect for natural sunbathing, swimming
and snorkeling. |
*
|
In the valley of
Santa
Agnès de Corona, at the appropriate time of year,
normally in January, you can see the show when people come from all over Europe, to see the almond
trees blossom. |
| * |
From the church of
San Rafael
one has a breathtaking view over the valley to the
city of Ibiza
and the sea and the island of Formentera
in the background. |
